Pathetic American Top Gear

Amen! I could barely get through one episode. All that was missing was "girls on trampolines" to finish it off.

It seemed too much talk, not enough hooning about with cars for my taste.

As I've said it before, here and other places. When the US guys are not copying UK episodes, it's pretty good. The toughest truck in Alaska was one of their best episodes. Last week, copying the UK RV episode was mediocre at best.

I've noticed the Big Star, Small Car segment appears to be gone, and I've not noticed many power laps by the US Stig recently either.

Is that the one where Adam Levine was on it? He really seemed like he didn't wnat to be there (along with the whole crows of people in the background.)

And then there is this guy, I have talked about him before... He makes the Super Speeders DVDs...

Love the Video Gearhead! I watched one episode of the U.S Version and never watched again.

UK version is very diverse! Exciting! plus they have access to the best made exotic autos in the world.

At least the spin offs don't dilute the original franchise, and TG-UK makes tourist trips to the US like they do other worldly spots with decent roads. I'd watch TG-US if I were stranded in a hospital, bus depot, on a plane, etc.

TG-Australia falls somewhere in between. They have charisma with their likeable fat guy, lanky guy, and other guy.

Rutledge Wood should have been limited to that drag race game show he was on,and then canned...That whole show should have been cancelled last year, but alas, there were enough redneck viewers to keep it alive.I would rather see a MotorWeek type show with indepth reviews and critiques of new cars and things pertaining to the industry. But hey,the K car won the "kids first car" competition, compared to the scary Rabbit pickup and dangerous Honda CRX...

What drag race game show? The only one I know of is Pass Time, and it's not hosted by Rutledge Wood. It's hosted by another big, fat guy. I love that show.

I also stopped watching TG-US after a few episodes. I'm just not feeling it. In order for the show to be a success, they had to think outside the box and be BETTER then the original, not copy each and every aspect of it.

The cast is annoying and I dislike them but they can pull it off if they would act normal and not seem to be playing in character ALL THE TIME. It gets old within 15 minutes of listening to them.

Top Gear UK all the way! I've watched every episode!

Nothing can beat the UK version, but I do like Top Gear USA.

I guess I'm one of the dumb rednecks referenced in a previous post.

It's certainly better than some of the other drivel on the tube these days.

UK Top Gear has already started copying UK Top Gear :-( Don't I remember seeing them play the car rugby in the past?

Exactly, Clarkson, Hammond, and May didn't start out with each other the way they are now. TG US isn't all horrible and I bet that if there wasn't a UK TG to compare it with nobody would have the complaints that they do.
