Personally, I think that the people on this board generally over think their motor oil and probably sell their vehicles before their obsession with lubrication benefits them with longer vehicle life.

(230,000KM but close!) (Miles x 1.6 = KM). Honda's are generally easier on oil than other makes/models from my experience.

But very cool nonetheless!

It's all good... Would be nice if you were on the Metric system though, much easier to calculate things IMO.

Most Canadians are good at converting our Metric-ness to Imperial-ness because we trade a lot with you south of the border.

My 8 year old daughter has always been curious about the way things work. She follows me all over the house when I am working on it. Last spring she helped me replace all the windows in the house. When I have to chop wood she is right there loading up the wheelbarrow to stack it. She loves going to the garbage dump as well. All in all she loves to learn all kinds of things. She knows all her continents, loves ancient Greece and all things history. She says she wants to be a veterinarian someday. Has a passion for all animals. And yes, she is even there to help change the oil on mommys and daddys cars. Especially Mommys 2006 Hyundai. I have to add that the Hyundai we have has been excellent. Its just a basic Accent, but its loaded and mommy refuses to part with it. Not a fast car, but fantastic gas mileage, and a very comfortable ride.
Go do something with your little ones. They'll love the change of pace.

Let me tell you... That living in the "Rust Belt" with harsh Canadian winters and very hot summers... Our extreme weather and road salt are proving grounds for car manufacturers... Their are a ton of older Accents running around up here with well over 200,000KM on the odometer... They are cheap, efficient vehicles that never give up. Sure they rust, and look like [censored] after a while but they keep on going. The nurse that comes to help one of my Neighbours with Physio has one that she won't part with and I asked her one day how many KM's she had on it and she has over 300,000KM. Car looks like [censored], and it blows blue-smoke on start up but it brings her here every week.

You just defeated anyone and everyone who has an opinion on what oil is best AND proved all those know it all engineers that spend BILLIONS of dollars on developing their precious formulas, wrong.

lol... for every brilliant idea and hard work, there is a fool that will unravel it ( not that YOUR sister is a fool mind you... but you get the idea.)

She has horse shoes up the arse... With my luck I would have seized the engine...

I hope you gave him the full experience and let him get some of the waste oil running over his hand and to drink in that special aroma of the waste oil too.

I remember helping my dad change the mower oil when I was little, but the best "dad moments" were when he would crack a beer as he often would give me the first hit.

It's just over 3 years old and I would buy another one again, very very happy. Haven't been back to the dealer since I bought it for anything.

I have been very impressed at how my wife's Sonata is built. Much better than the POS Buick we dumped.

John... Hyundai has a tarnished past, and so does some other manufacturers, but I think with the current economic crisis all makes are working very hard to improve their quality because they seem to "Get it" now. Customers don't have the money they once did and want the best bang for their buck.

I believe it to be Hyundai at the moment, but I think any car will give you reliable service up to 200,000 miles if looked after...

Just my opinion though!
