Partsource Canada 5 L syn oil and OE+pro filter for $33

good call on the filter those are well made and stout filters as for the oil itself i "google" searched the dexos license number falls back to this info

  • License holder: Wakefield Canada, Inc.
  • Brand/Product: Pro Series OE Synthetic 0W-20
  • License #: D135AEAD014
  • Approval: dexos1 Gen3

my guess would be Canada's equivalent to anything Warren Distribution put their name on.

That be some good information. I thought Shell made most of the Canadian Tire oil [Partsouce], but I guess not in this case. I just used google map to find Wakefield Canada and I see it is on the same property as Castrol. When I went to the Wakefield website it displays the Castrol logo everywhere. I learn something everyday but I forget twice as much.

Interesting…CT brand syn oil says right on the jug ‘made with Shell technology’.
CT owns Partsource; but they ‘try’ to set them out as separate entities…this seems to be part of it - PS ‘OE Plus’ oils are made by Castrol and distributed by Wakefield Canada.

it’s not rebottled Castrol it’s their own blend such as Warren distribution to super tech or Kirkland signature. Warren distribution is a distributor of Mobil oils and super tech or Kirkland is not rebottled Mobil.

Whoever makes the OE+ filters also makes the Castrol filters. They appear identical in every way right down to the color coding on the sealing ring. Just a Castrol sticker and a different box. Regular price is $7 less than the Castrol.

Wakefield Canada is the Canadian bottler and distributor of Castrol oils; therefore the OE plus oils will be very similar to Castrol; if not the same.
‘OE Plus’ oils, just for Partsource, are not a big enough amount of oil to blend a completely separate batch of oil for.

These are made by Champion Labs/Fram. I am under the impression they are quite similar to the blue can AcDelco oil filters as well. The Castrols are starting to come in made by Gki, the MotoMaster OE+ are still mostly champ/fram.

Confusingly, the Partsource OE+ filters are entirely different, and almost certainly premium guard.

Where did you find the Pro Series oil related to Wakefield? the license number just brings up Canadian Tire corporation through GM.
