A new Parts Plus PH253EX (Fram PH16 and others equivalent interchange) which has synthetic media. It is new, but I did put this filter along with new oil in my lawn tractor transmission which had a Cub Cadet 723-3014 filter. For some reason this PH253EX the tractor wouldn't move, so I thought maybe it was defective? But it seems OK. Maybe the ADBV is messing it up? The PH253EX is supposed to be interchange for the CC 723-3014, but I didn't see any ADBV on the CC filter, so I just drained it well and reused it on the tractor. I don't know why this filter did not work, threaded on fine and tractor was just acting like stuck in neutral. Worked fine with old CC filter back on and the new oil.
So here's the cut open PH253EX which seems to be a well made filter with metal filter media end caps, thick threaded end plate, metal core, coil spring, nice even pleat spacing except near the seam with metal crimp, and a bypass(?) in the lower cap. I didn't open the pleats since it was tougher with the metal caps. Interesting the filter is made in Korea.
