Parking lots for Solar Energy?

Parking lots and desert are being used here. All it takes is someone/something to put up the money. And it has to be feasible. Solar in NJ doesn't have the same ROI as solar in AZ, not very equitable.
A high percentage of schools and public buildings have solar over parking lots. Some supermarkets in Phoenix.
On a micro scale I look at solar every year and it just doesn't make economic sense for us, even here in AZ.

Because it sounds good on paper, but is actually very expensive with little to no gain.
Solar is the equivalent of a 100mpg carburetor, except the greedy government killed that carburetor back then, but today it’s totally different, that same government is looking for our own best interests by forcing the solar panels and electric cars.
I've seen this around Las Vegas. It makes a lot of sense. Cars stay cooler and reduces the rate at which vehicle age. The incentives are already there. No reason to require it.
Plenty to gain when solar is charging an EV in the parking lot.
Ya well you don't understand private property rights and the concept of aggression. You can pour sewage on your property but the govt can prohibit it if your sewage may poison the well on my property.

Agreed. If economics made it favorable over the energy presently produced, companies would be already investing in parking lot solar energy.
there's a lot to gain from it in reducing emissions and reducing reliance on fossil fuels
You increase the reliance on fossil fuels because the peaker plants are pretty much all run on fossil fuels and their use has been constantly increasing as solar and wind power generation increases.

There's a reason why you see solar arrays over government parking lots and not every Walmart in the country.
The two are not mutually exclusive. As more renewable energy sources come online, the more fossil fuel lessens. It would also help for us to stop decom'ing nuke plants and build more of them as well.
That's also not to say that we will ever NOT have fossil fuels as energy production, we still will.
Local University has had them in place several years. Their next phase is to install them in farm pastures, which I have mixed feelings about.

Energy Density and cost
I read on Bloomberg? that to meet Biden's Renewable Energy plans by 2050 we would need an area equal to the size of 4 South Dakotas.

Forward movement is good. However, Solar isn't exactly super clean like people think it is. I am curious about the new offshore and designs in Wind tech coming out lately.

Let’s not stop there. Cover all the lakes with solar panels. Sunny beaches should be covered. Every back yard should be covered.
