When it rains it pours....wife got caught up in the tornado onslaught yesterday in OKC. She's OK, a little shaken up, but our new CRV got beat up pretty bad. Actually, not as bad as I thought after watching all the storm reports on the news later. Anyway, the hood and roof got some dimples on it. Did not crack the paint nor are their any dings where there are creases. I really DON'T want to have to go the traditional route of bondo-sanding-spraying. In my experience, no matter how good the body shop is, nothing comes back looking like factory and the insides stink for up to 6 months. Can anybody give me some advice on paintless dent repair. The hood dings are easily accessible. The roof...I guess somehow the headliner will come off and work it from underneath. I just don't know much about this new process.

Hi,

I've never had a roof repair done, but I used to own an '89 BMW 325is. This car was different from the others here in the U.S. as it was originally purchased in Munich and driven there for a little over a year before being shipped to the U.S. Somehow, the original owner got in in without converting it to U.S. spec- easily spotted by comparing the front and rear bumpers to the model sold here.

That car seemed especially prone to door dings. On a few occasions, I took it to Dent Wizard, and they did a fantastic job. Not cheap, but certainly cheaper than a body shop, far quicker, and non invasive.

Be prepared- these folks are well trained- they will quickly identify and point out dings you didn't know you had.

HIghly recommended.

+1.

I had Carsmetics here in Florida fix a dent on the Chevy Colorado I used to own. I had backed into a mailbox. They did a great job on it and for a lot less than a body shop would have charged.

They can work wonders.
Get guys who have been in business a while.

Hoods have braces, which may impede their work, so get an estimate.
Will it be prefect? Some dents yes - but don't count on it.

I had the roof of a Jeep Liberty fixed with paintless dent removal after it got caught in a hail storm. There were at least 50 small dents in the roof and they got them all out. Could not tell it ever happened. Yes, they drop the headliner to access the underside of the roof.

I live in OK and have had PDR done on a dent on my truck before. If you are in the metro area, send me a message and I'll let you know who to contact. This guy did an amazing job and it was cheaper than body shop work.

I had an amazing experience with one of these guys. Really bad shopping center dent right on the rounded corner of a front fender.

He fixed it PERFECT!

Got my guy by WOM.

Thanks again. I called my salesman for the CRV and he got me the number of the guy that they hire to fix all of their dents at the lot. He called me back and said he'd be interested. So, I'll see what the insurance says first. Thanks Reddy, I'll keep this in mind of the Honda PDR guy doesn't come through.
