Painting a vehicle?

I had a Saturn painted at Maaco. The car was in a crash and I replaced 5 different body panels with junkyard parts so it was multicolored at that point. Since the original color was white, they asked me if they could use their standard "commercial truck" white paint. It came out very nice and lasted well.

I've painted my 67 Camaro myself and I have a sh*t ton of respect for the costs and time involved.

Maaco uses Sherwin-Williams automotive paints, but the cheaper lines. They won’t do the prep. And TBH, SW makes underwhelming paint.

Better shops use PPG Deltron/Envirobase or Nexa Autocolor(which is British PPG) or the better Axalta lines(Cromax, Spies Hecker and Standox). PPG is to car paint as Benjamin Moore is to houses. But 99% of the time, it’s the prepper and painter. I know guys who can make the cheap line of PPG or Axalta go on like glass.
