2019 Jeep Cherokee Limited. Powerstop Z36 pads with coated rotors kit. Performed the recommended bedding procedure. Pics are aprox 25 miles of combination hills and highways.
Noticing the driver’s side coating under the pads cleaned off sooner which makes me think somethings up with my brake job. I’m not a pro, but I’ve been doing my own brakes for 30 years so I know what needs to be done. The pins were moving OK. The pads were not tight. They even have springs. I cleaned under the new clips. So why does one side appear to be wearing off the coating quicker? Is that because the master cylinder is on the driver side so it gets more pressure? There’s something wrong with the caliper? Do I need to take it apart and check my work? Or is this something I’m noticing because it was a coated rotor and it’s normal as the pads break in? Vehicle doesn’t pull. Nothing feels wrong in the steering wheel. Heat thermometer says the rotor surface is roughly the same temperature. What should I do?
