p/s fluid or atf

Hello, i was given a half gallon of bg power steering fluid. i am going to flush out the power steering on my truck. the truck has atf in it now and it works fine and does not make any noise. anyway i felt the power steering fluid between my fingers and atf between my fingers and the atf felt allot slipperier compared to the power steering fluid which felt like it did not cushion as good. i know that does not mean anything but i was wondering if anyone heard anything good or bad about bg power steering fluid. its really called bg power clean. i mixed power steering fluid and atf in cup and it looked and felt ok so it should be good to mix in old system.

Just my own experience, but the only steering unit I ever had fail was one I had filled with PSF when it was spec'd for ATF.

I wouldn't put PSF in an ATF spec'd system again.

I have used Mobil 1 ATF for many years in PS pumps with excellant results.

+1 to what tig1 says. Use the Mobil 1 ATF all the time in my Nissan Frontier but do use the specified type of power steering fluid fluid in my wife's Saturn. Both have run very well over the years but I would not switch fluids in either of them.

If it's the saginaw box and pump in your sig, it won't make a difference. I've used both fluids in that system with equal results.

My Sonata calls for plain P/S fluid. Tech on another site said they use any P/S version from local places that gives best deal to service manager. My fluid was real dirty at 100k and I was low (looks like seeping at rack connection)I just got some walmart version while I was there and it was totally clear. I did teh turkey baster for now and will do a couple times.

My Sequoia takes ATF and i used M1 when i replaced. I'd like to use in the Sonata. Thoughts/opinions.
