I have been using Fram 7317s but they are no longer around. What is the oversized Carquest Premium number? The exact fit Part Number is 85358.

There really isn't an "oversized" cross-over for the 7317. The 7317 is the oversized filter for the 6607.

Oversized filters can flow more oil, hold more crud, add a bit more oil capacity and usually costs the same as the small original sized filter.
As long as it doesn't interfere with hoses, frame, etc..
No downside.

My 2 cents

But is the "upside" measurable to any degree of significance to extend service life given all other factors besides the feelz of it? Worth the risk if in the rare event of a filter failure that cascades to possible engine damage that non catalog use of a particular filter can be grounds for the filter maker to deny any warranty/liability coverage?

I would be hypocritical to say I have not used a oversize or even undersize filter on occasion, but that was mainly to use an orphaned filter rather than throw it away. When I did use them, it was not because I thought I was solving a problem or extending by any appreciable means the service life of a engine for the few extra ounces of oil or extra filter media.

Oversized filters can flow more oil …
Only in extreme operating conditions like running near redline and keeping the oil pump a hair less out of pressure relief because the dP across the filter is a few PSI less due to being larger. The filter is still only about 12-15 times less restrictive than the oiling system. Doubt engine designers would specify a too small sized OEM oil filter and not expect users to never drive hard near redline at times. It doesn't hurt to over-size the filter, except if an engine warranty claim is made due to a filter failure that was the root cause of engine damage. Don't over-size using junk filters.

I’ve been using the 6607 sized filters since Nissan came out with them in the 2000s and never an issue. Except for the Nissan branded gohner filters.
