As I said: I will do ANYTHING required to get out of jury duty up to and including moving. There is zero chance any lawyer would ever let me actually be on a jury.

Again, if you lose a promotion because you showed up for jury duty, you were probably not getting that promotion in the first place.
And if you could prove that you lost it, or your job, because of jury duty service, you would be able to win a lawsuit against your employer in court, and there isn't a judge in the entire country who wouldn't rule in your favor if that's what actually happened.
Man, those slippery slopes you guys find yourself perched on all the time...
I hope the view is at least nice up there, before you fall down the hill and break your neck.
