Original VW Beetle Fuse Marked 15/8

The photo is not clear enough to show the 15/8, but it is cast into the white ceramic body.. I don't know if it is a fuse rating (15 amp or 8 amp) or whether it has nothing to do with the fuse link installed on the ceramic body. Which brings up the question - if not the fuse rating, how do you know the fuse rating?
I have a collection of these fuses from fifty years ago when I had Beetles. Some of the fuses have rose coloured ceramic bodies, may be the body colour is tied to the fuse rating.
The fuses come in handy when I work on my friends' air cooled BMW motorcycles.

I'll take a SWAG.
Maybe 15 amps @6V and 8 amps @12V, since over a wide enough number of years a VW could be either.

Just checked the rose coloured fuse bodies and they have 16 cast into them. The fuse link is thicker on the rose one. It looks like white body = 8 amp and rose body = 16 amp.
16 is an odd number for a fuse but Beetles were using 8 and 16 amp fuses.

White is an 8 amp fuse. These are used in my 1995 Mercedes.

Here is the color code for VW Beetle (OG) plastic fuses:

• 8 Amp White Fuses
• 16 Amp Red Fuses
• 25 Amp Blue Fuses
