are the oreillys microguard relabeled fram ORANGE cans? dont have anything against fram, just curious.

i got a few from the killer oreillys deal. for those who dont know it's 5.1 quart jugs of mobil and a microguard filter for 9.99 + tax instantly and a free 5 dollar gift card to oreillys.

They are relabeled OCOD. They used to be Purolator but O'reilly switched vendors about a year ago.

I just picked up a couple of microgard filters with my Mobil 5000 oil since they had a sale at O'reillys. I asked the worker there if they were purolator filters and he said they were. But just looking at the filter design on the box, I can tell you they are in fact not. They look exactly like a Fram Extra Guard Filter. I never seen a purolator with paper end caps. They even have the same efficiency ratings of the Fram Extra Guard.

I got the deal too! The employee there said the filters are made by Champion. I don't know if that's good or bad.

The filters are technically a Fram product but both Fram and Champion Labs are owned by the Rank Group in New Zealand.

Autolite/Fram/Prestone was recently aquired by the Rank Group from Honeywell,Champ Labs was aquired some time ago.
