im looking for some responses to oreillys global atf, particuallary in a dodge transmission that calls for +3 or +4. is anyone using this fluid in place of atf+3 and atf+4, if so how do you like it? does it provide firmer shifts then +4? im open to discussions about ppl using it in chevy and ford transmissions as well, just trying to learn about it before buying 15 qts of it and doing a flush and running it in my dodge A-518 transmission, thanks to ppl with input.

im not trying to save money at all, what im trying to do is find a fluid thats safe to use besides +4, the reason i don not want to run +4 is because it provides real sloppy shifting. i want a firm shift if possible, i wish alot of companys still made atf+3 because thats what i would be running hands down.

i am told amalie still makes atf+3 but i have no idea where to purchase it at, even looked online at the amalie online lube store didnt see plus three, seen amalie universal atf and wolfshead universal atf, my transmission is not like the new 46re an 47re its not nearly as electronically controlled as the re's, i do realize running in overdrive causes more heat but only time im in overdrive is if im cruising dwon the highway and i shut over drive off while driving around town and i have a nice aftermarket transmission cooler attatched to outside of my radiator so it gets wind and the fan, i understand the more electronically controlled transmssions require +4 because they are shifting in and out of overdrive alot more and need the extra protection that is not the case with me, i controll when my overdrive is engadged and sisengadged ninot a computer.

i have heard friction modifiers dont do much in atf+4 i guess i'll run plus4 im just not looking forward to having sloppy shifts but its better then a burnt up transmission that dont shift at all. i was just thinking somone has tried oreilly global in a plus4 application but aparntly no one has cause no one has said yes i use it and have had no problems.

The friction modifiers are supposed to "change" DEXRON III/Mercon ATF into ATF's such as ATF+4 and others. Maybe the word "change" isn't the correct word here! To make DexIII/Merc "more like" other ATF's.

You can try Castrol Import-multi vehicle ATF. It is designed for Asian applications but it does list that it fulfills the requirements of Chrysler ATF+3 and not ATF+4 . Might be what you are looking for.
