Opinion on Motorcraft filters ....

I have been using Motorcraft filters for years and never had one problem...

Fortunately, both my V10 Superduty and Town car use the same FL820s, so I stock up at Walmart for $3.88....

I use the Motorcraft 5w20 oil too....I guess I am a real Ford Guy....had not thought about that until now!!

Note the correlation between flow rate and how small the porosity of the media is. The PureOne filters great, but the pressure drop, the resistance to oil flow, is not good. Compare it to the same brand, Purolator, their standard "PremiumPlus" filter, same size filter, has 3 times the flow at the same pressure differential. Houston, we have a problem.

And notice the PremiumPlus filter, has larger porosity of it's media, and allows higher flow rates.

Thanks for the correction. I did not know that. The catalog for motorcraft at my Walmart only lists American cars.

The Wal-Mart catalog only lists the (about 6) Motorcraft filters they usually stock.

Yes, my Rodeo calls for the FL-810 Motorcraft filter.

Stupid question, but is it wise to use a filter designed from Ford on an Isuzu engine?

Will also try the Supertech filter next change out, believe it's the ST3593A

Does anybody know if this part# to the Supertech is the E-core or not?

I used Motorcraft FL12A filters on my 305's for the couple years I worked at a Ford dealer. I never cut a filter open, but I'm sure they did the job, I used them cause they were right there at work and I'd read nothing but good about them.

I wouldn't worry about the name game. I had a filter that fit on our hyundai, my kawasaki bike, my current Efini Ms-8, and the previous honda we used to own. I don't think the filter cares what kind of car it's made for. As long as the specs meet up, it should work just fine.

On my 2002 F350 Power Stroke 7.3 diesel, only oil filter I use is the MC #1995 only $10.00 at WM.
