The problem is, in facial and finger print recognition the human wants to make it work, and will collaborate and get it to work, but in check out application, human wants to make it not work so they can steal stuff.

Wow, so cynical. I like you!

In the store you will have different types of fruits and vegetables along with organic versus regular. All these are priced differently. That's why most fruit and vegetables have stickers on them now.

Very good point. Didn't think of that. I like the way HEB/Central Market does it here. The SKU number is prominently displayed in the produce area. There are numerous electronic scales in the area. You punch in the four digit code and a bar-coded sticker prints out to stick onto your produce bag. Then, it can just be scanned at the register.

It'd never work. Mr. Potato Head would be grabbed at the doors when the alarm goes off and forced to pay for himself.

I like it! LOL

Do sackers at grocery stores still take the groceries out to the customer's car for them? That's something I haven't noticed in a really long time.

Fred Meyers (part of Kroger) will do if you ask. In fact we shop at a store that just got remodeled and they have baggers at check out to help speed the process up and take the load off the cashier. Even the self serve checkouts have assistants that will scan your items.
