Okay so I got to ask... Are those the speakers they had at Madison Square Garden?![]()
The B&W's? Don't think so. Their infamy lies in their history of use at Abbey Road:

You asked about high end. Denon and Onkyo are not high end. They are main stream.I specifically mentioned Onkyo and Denon because that full Onkyo unit was SUPERB in the Connecticut home. Really really good. I think the guy was actually an Onkyo dealer or salesman.
I thought Denon was an equivalent (they are from Denmark?) so I'm slightly surprised Denon isn't getting more love, though it has been mentioned some.
We're Demons also like Premier units (anything better than Technics in terms of quality?) Sony ES came around .. I am not entirely sure but yep Sony didn't just do TV. Always an average-above average, Sony was.
Would you out Denon as an A- or B+.. Onkyo??
In 1972 I bought a Harmon Kardon Citation 11 amp and pre amp they conked out in 2006 so I gave them and the Ess Hiel amt 1 speakers to one of my hard core audiophile friends. I brought the amp and pre amp to a Mackintosh clinic and it beat the manufactures specs by quite a margin . I had a friend with some Bose 901speakers and a nice amp which I don't remember the brand but we hooked them up together and the sound was like a live rock concert sound . Powerful and hard hitting . I doubt I have ever heard more realistic rock sound.
A lot of movie theaters and concert venues are equipped with JBL. But it's quite different from the JBL home audio stuff.Okay so I got to ask... Are those the speakers they had at Madison Square Garden?![]()
Movie theaters too rightA lot of movie theaters and concert venues are equipped with JBL. But it's quite different from the JBL home audio stuff.
https://jblpro.com/en/product_families/jbl-professional-cinemaI've always liked JBLs.
I presently have two Bluetooth speakers both from JBL.
I believe JBL is a Harman/Kardon brand now, is it not?
So please tell me, I'm interested.. how is the concert venue JBL different from your home audio segment?
Is it simply bigger speakers that can handle more power or is it more to it than that?
Thanks, Quattro Pete.
Salk Signature SoundWhat kind of speakers are those?

that system was amazing and I'm only being slightly facetious because what it was was a closed-in amphitheater....
And Madison Square Garden is never going to open back up again......
They might have both?Altec Lansing - Voice of the theatre are used as the name would imply as are Klipschorns.
LOOVED my JBL 4412's, but the eventually shredded and burned behind the might Mcintosh. Should have reckoned them.
I hard heard 2 diff MSG stories - one was running Altec Lansing Voice of the Theatre's,
the other said they were running Klipschorns.
(Both Epic)
now it's a shame that Madison Square Garden is never going to open back up again....They might have both?
did you know that there's a smaller theater under Madison Square Garden that's its own separate theater?
I've worked boxing events in both.

4410 and 4412.Ive had several JBL's - all great especially my 4410's and 12's
On power handling its complicated. There is a bit more to it than that, but for the most part yes, you are unlikely to see many "bookshelf speakers" that can take sustained high power input from a monster amp like that Bryston B4.
The speakers resistance (ohms) driver(s) size, style, count, driver construction, magnet type, and any internal crossovers all have a power rating they can take, and all assembled as a unit the speaker sensitivity rating is measured on the scale of "X"decibels@ 1 watt @ 1 meter.
Bose 901 are famous for requiring huge power to deliver the spec.
4410 and 4412.
10-in woofers and 12-in woofers?
As I'm sure most know, Altec Lansing and JBL have a common thread - James B. Lansing (JBL), born James Martini.H/K owns JBL now. So I suppose I am an H/K fan
Altec Lansing was another name.
I never did know what JBL stood for.As I'm sure most know, Altec Lansing and JBL have a common thread - James B. Lansing (JBL), born James Martini.
