My 16 year old has been playing and taking drums lessons for 4 years. He's a monster downstairs in the basement with the double bass drums and mostly plays hard rock, metal, and speed metal. He has friends come over to play with him but doesn't do much in front of crowds. His music teacher does an extra "sessions" night every week with select students with the goal of playing some of the summer town events in the area. The band is my 16 year old, a 20 year old, a few 50 year olds, and even a few +60 year olds - it's an eclectic group. It was fun seeing him just jamming with the band in front of a crowd today. Enjoy!

That’s awesome! I love music and everything to do with it, I just wasn’t ever any good at playing it. The coordination it takes to play drums is insane, truly a special talent. You may have the next Neil Peart or Stewart Copeland level drummer in your family. 😉
I enjoyed watching him play. Great job!

Impressive! My 17 year old son also played the drums for four years. He quit his lessons last year to focus on school and soccer, in that order. So now, I use the kit. ;)

Nice. I haven't a musical bone in my body but it's nice to hear the kids in our house.

At least instead of drums we wound up with a piano.
