One flick turn signal

On my old Benz, a flick of the turn signal stalk flashed the blinker three times. It's a great feature and it sucks none of my current cars have it. Wish more manufacturers incorporated practical stuff like this into their vehicles.

My moms '15 sienna (made in USA) has this feature, but my sisters '15 prius c (Japan) doesn't. Most audis (old and new) have it as do most modern BMW's. I'd give it another 5-7 years before all manufacturers incorporate it. It's really useful.

Oodles of American cars have this. Even entry level Fords and Chevys. When I replaced the flasher on my 1997 F150, the new flasher had this feature.

My Chevy truck has a chime that comes on and the information center flashes a message saying blinker is on....after a mile of driving with it blinking! Buick's, Crown Vics and Lincolns should have this feature.

+1 really useful. My Mitsu and the Smart have this, but not the other one...they one allow you to maintain the turn signal stalk without completely engaging it though, also practical.

Hmm, rarely see anyone around here using a turn signal at all.
It seems to be the more expensive cars have turn signals as an option because the more expensive the car, the less likely it is to see a turn signal used.

Never thought about it though. When changing lanes, I just push the stalk enough to engage the signal without locking it to stay on, then release it when the lane change is done. Never thought to see if it does 3 blinks automatically on any vehicle I have driven.

I don't signal for a simple lane change. I don't feel it is necessary. I check my mirrors, there is no one there, I change lanes. Who cares. Around here all a signal does is cause the car behind you in the lane you want to get into to speed up.

I am waiting for a feature that would actually force the drivers to use their turn signals.

15 times? That seems excessive. What'd be nice if the turn signal canceled after 15 times *if it was set on*. You know, for those folks who leave their indicator on for miles and miles.

Wouldn't mind having this feature. I usually just hold down the stalk for about 3 flashes then let up; but once in a while I get a half blink as my finger slipped off. First world problems I know.

None of my vehicles have it but I rented a Hyundai Elantra when the Sonata was in the shop after a hail storm and it had the feature -- only I didn't know about it so the first time I signaled a lane change (how quaint), the signal didn't stop blinking right when I let the stalk go so I thought something was stuck and then moved the stalk the other way, which then started the cycle on that side.

After a couple of back-and-forths like that I finally figured out that the signal would turn itself off.

The turn signal stalk on my Cherokee is bad. On damp or humid days, it will get stuck on either the left or right turn signal and won't stop.
