I wrote to Odis/Fp because I had some specific questions on FP/my car's situation.
however, I though I'd post my questions here, too, so all of you who've used FP could also give your opinios based on your exp. with FP.
These were my questions:
My car is a 97 T-bird 4.6L, currently has 93k miles.
at about 85k miles, there was some pinging starting
with 87 oct. gas. I went to 93 oct, and it stopped.
began to ping again at around 90k miles: This time, I
cleaned the MAF, replaced spark plugs: pinging gone,
so I thought I can use lower oct; put some 89 oct. in:
pinging again!!
went back to 93 oct(no pinging), and been using it
ever since...other than this pinging I had, I have no
other performance prob's, except that I THINK, car
COULD have more power. Lately gas mileage has been
dropping...SO:
I'd like to go back to lower oct.gas without the ping.
If the reason for ping is carbon build-up/fuel system
related prob's, I think FP might help. Here are my
"?"s:
-------------------------------
1) Do you see enough reasons to try FP in my car?
2) If my car doesn't really have any fuel system or
carbon prob's, will using FP hurt anything?
3) Shall I start using FP at normal dosage, or at a
higher one? any specific dosage instructions for my
case?
4) Can using FP cause the results of a used oil analysis to be off?
------------------------
would appreciate your comments, too.
Thanks in advance.
