Ummm, you realize that hein warner was bought by a CHINESE company?

Even if it sports a us flag, it's not to be trusted. Some items may be good (I do own an HW floor jack, which will lift anything and remain quite sturdy and solid, not sure if mine was made before or after this HW buyout), but the potential for lower quality metals, and situations like items being "assembled" in the USA of imported materials, allows this stuff to be cheaper out with chinesium parts, and sold for more money because a flag is pasted on it. That's as treacherous as anything.

You have to be careful buying anything these days. What amazes me though is how far some will go to justify their purchases of Chinese junk. Sometimes it is the best choice, sometimes it is the only choice. But often there are better choices, and. I'll not question a pro who risks his safety and well being wrenching under a vehicle that is jacked up, because one slip up on his part can equal thousands in lost business. Ditto for my own well being. Being injured or damaging my own car isn't worth questionable parts when so many have had issues and time and time again items from the same place are questionable.

I'd love to love the HF lightweight aluminum jacks. I reviewed one a few years back. In the end though there are just too many dubious issues with it... And while a steel jack may be better, I'll bet that many of the functional hydraulic parts are no different... No thanks. Torin or any other brand made in China and bought at a cost cutting box store should be looked at with great distrust, as it could cost you life or limb.

I bought the Arcan XL 325 from Costco last spring. Used it a few times and it's worked great. Going to drain/fill the jack oil at the beginning of each season.
