Old Rotella or New Rotella? Formulations

I have begun to notice that the old version of Rotella T Synthetic 5w40 has started to become replaced with the newer formulation. I have heard that the old formulation is better than the newer formula. Should I buy several jugs of the old stuff before it's gone?

I have not heard any real difference. It is still designed an an extended drain commercial diesel oil so anything that they take out will have to be replaced with something else even if we do not see it on a $20 used oil analysis a commerical diesel engine costs more thenyou vechile is worth so OEM blenders and such do not usualy play games in this area of the market too much to lose in terms of lawsuites and such.

On top of that I have heard the opposite that it was eeesentialy the same product but with better VII's being used to keep it in grade better. RTS5W40 has a record of shearing down in use. THis info was posted by Jonny a former SOPUS employee and now retired so it should be good info.

I haven't heard that, either. I've heard it's basically the same, with improved VII.
