Stopped off at AZ to pick up some stuff and grabbed two gallons of Delo LE 15W40, as I like the SJ stuff in my tractor. Well, I get home and later when I'm unloading the truck, I realize the date codes on the oil, HOLY COW! Take a peak below.

What would you do? It's over 1 to 3 past the shelf life of the oil!

They put a date on everything.....they had to pick some date. In the case of bottles of oil, IMO, it's meaningless.

I wonder if anyone can beat the 1990 Syntec SJ rated oil Sears had for sale for $10 a quart haha!

The 5 1gallon jugs of DELO XLE 10W30 were dated June and May 2014 I scored at autozone for $3 each

Yea right? I wonder how old that M1 is.

Wouldn't think twice about it. I would think once, post on bitog, and forget about it thinking about it the first time after everyone told me to forget about it.

They discontinued the Delo at AZ, my local AZ sold me 5 5gal buckets of 15w40 CK-4 and 15w40 CJ-4 for $30 each, not bad.

I still have 2 cases of red cap Mobil 1 that's 12 years old. I mix with 5w20 oil.
