i found some old mobile 1 0/30 in my storage shed i have had for years.it is rated gf2 do you think it would be safe to use in a riding lawn mower? i would be afraid to put it in my cars.

Heck yeah...that would be great for a mower. That probably had a good amount of PAO base stock in it and a good add pack. How much of this did you have stashed??

I'd use it in my car. In fact I used older oil than that and had an excellent UOA. Milk goes bad, oil doesn't IMO.

use it in cars, mowers etc without worry. i used to be concerned about using "old" oil in my vehicles but no longer, after I became a true BITOG'er

I thought that you misspelled Oldsmobile, but I instead you misspelled Mobil.

LSAC GF-2 API SJ came out in August 1997 and lasted until ~2000. If you uncomfortable with this age - it will do just peachy in your lawnmower (may burn just a bit though).
