'old' Mobil 1 75W90 labeling vs current?

I could use a sanity check here. Years ago, maybe 5 or 7 or better I seem to distinctly remember that M1 used to list BOTH GL4 and GL5 on the bottle. Something like "GL4/5". Now my memory could be in error and I don't think I have any old bottles left but will check once again. The current bottles and the site both are specific about just listing GL5. The site even goes further and only recommends for axles and transfer cases but makes a qualification for manual transmissions that...

Does anybody else remember GL4 being noted in the specs years ago in M1 or is my memory in error?

PS: I use M1 in both axles on my Toyota truck as well as the transfer case. But I don't think it's the best choice for the 5 spd (book simply lists GL5 or GL4...). Think I'll stick w/ a pure GL4 intended for a manual transmission on that box.

GL-4 gear oils are going to get harder and harder to find. "This classification is still used commercially to describe lubricants, but the equipment required for the anti-scoring test procedures to verify lubricant performance is no longer available."
