i have an old Graymarine 6 cyl and an old ChrisCraft branded V8 in two boats i'm working on. i am on the Great Lakes and both boats will see limited seasonal use.. Wondering if there is a better oil alternative than straight 30W which would have been my default.... thanks for any ideas... dave

I would use a 10W-30 synthetic in both those engines but will see what others say. I would think the 30 would be a little heavy for the cold starts and might warm up a little slower. They sound like really cool boats.
