Not quite sure where to post this. I have a couple of old cb stuff like an in box antenna and an antenna rotator. I thought they were cool but am looking to downsize. Instead of selling on Craigslist would prefer they go to someone who would put them to use. I don’t even know if someone would want something like this.

dang... if you were closer, I'd see if my brother would be interested.... he's just getting into ham radio... joined the local club, but hasn't taken the test for his License just yet.. but the shipping on something like that would be horrendous i would assume...

I suggest contacting your local ham radio club.

Is CB still a thing? Dad worked for Motorola back in the day when it was popular and always had stuff. I remember an auto head unit that combined AM/FM with a CB radio. And various Mocat units and accessories.

In I think every 18 wheeler on the road. Some on radar detector forum I know use them as it is a real time communication method for threat awareness. Just depends what you want to listen to on the road and how you want to communicate.

I’d be interested in it but I just don’t have the space either. I’d always wanted to set up a base station at my house but I never did. I collect old CBs and CB equipment. Unfortunately CB is becoming a thing of the past. My dad is a trucker and often goes weeks without hearing anything on the radio. The CB repair shop here closed up about 2 years ago. He told us at his closing sale that he didn’t have a single customer for 6 months straight so he decided to close up shop because no since sitting there all day for nothing. In the end he ended up giving us stuff and throwing most things away because no one showed up even with his big yellow signs out front and right next to a major truck stop and off a major interstate. I’d went there since I was a kid because my dad would go in there to get his radios fixed or tuned or get an old mic that still had 5 pins or whatever. I miss times like that. This one trucker who’s about 40 or so at my dads lot where he parks is like why would I care to have a CB when I have a phone and can find out news on that and it tells me where to go too. Hopefully you are able to pass them on to someone who would appreciate them. All I’d do is collect the stuff and I’ve got too many collections at this point lol otherwise I’d love to have them.

I have a K40 with K40 whip in the garage. Part of the Apocalypse Bug out supplies? Bought maybe in '89 when all the magazine tests (no internet stuff) from Cobra and others compared themselves to K40. Seemed to be reference standard, shop recommended as same price as others etc. I had it tweaked for more power and then also found a linear amp for it. It definitely had some range. Prior to cell phones each car we used for trips had one version or another. Many family trips were 2-3 cars so easy to say hey next exit, I gotta pee so I'm getting off. I'll catch up.

I had a 1980 AMC Eagle 4wheel drive car with factory CB/AM/FM. You could listen to regular stations and it would switch if there was a transmission on the CB channel you preset.

Put it up on Craigslist. There are people still looking for old C.B. equipment....Time for a 10-100....:D

I inherited my father's 2000 Silverado. At some point he had a CB installed. When I use it for trips to/from TN, I'll often turn the CB on just because I can. 99% of the time it's silence unless there is a traffic situation.
I (mis)spent a year driving for Schneider back in the 90s, and yakking on the CB kept me alert and alive more than once. There was always live entertainment on ch. 19, funny stories and jokes helped me power through the “drowsies.” A friend of mine tried out truck driving recently, and told me the CB days are all but over—he said 99% of the time, channel 19 was dead silence. Kinda sad.

Maybe I'm not out enough but almost every truck I see still has at least 1 larger whip antenna attached to it. I presume there is still a CB inside.
