"Old" Auto-Rx Application Instructions

I’ve got a couple old bottles of Auto-Rx. (The seals are still intact.) The instructions on these bottles recommend a 750 mile application phase, whereas the current instructions recommend a 1,500 mile application phase. To which instructions should I adhere in using these two older bottles of Auto-Rx?

There about to get tweaked again for Group111 Oils. Always check on Auto-Rx web site for latest application changes.
Data to support these changes on home page under "Whats New"

Printed material is current when it goes to press, it is not economically feasable to throw away new labels that have old information. Auto-Rx is continously in a test application mode. Hope you will see post on Auto-Rx Maintenace and how our chemistry works today.

Although ARX is sold as a lubrication system cleaner, all three of the ester
components have lubricity enhancement characteristics on their own. The
primary cleaning component is a lanolin ester. However this component has
applications in metal working as well. It is well documented as a cutting
tool lubricant, quite helpful in carrying away heat generated from the
tooling process and is an excellent anti corrosion/acid scavenger. Another
major component is a polyol ester, which is a patented boron free, chlor
free, extreme pressure additive. Lastly a primary component of ARX is an
aliphatic ester, similar to what is used as the base oil used in aviation,
due to its extremely high oxidation resistance, but is also quite useful in
oil film formation, and the elimination of fish eyes, or dry spots.

This is a brief background on why ARX repeatedly produces very low wear
numbers, even during the cleaning applications in somewhat neglected motors.
We also find that a smaller dose(maintenance dose) is quite helpful in
reducing wear numbers over the coarse of an oil change interval.

Another side of the coin is that a maintenance dose will increase the hosts
oil detergency/dispersantcy, taking some of the load off of the additives in
the host oil. In other words supplements the host oil in it ability to avoid
oxidized oil deposit formation on the internals of the equipment.

Does ARX provide additional calcium or other ingredients to boost the total
base number. No. But based on the performance attributes above, the results
can actually say yes. That is in regards to reducing wear, dissipating heat,
and value for the dollar on an oil change interval.

There is no magic pill that can be added to motor oil to double its useful
life. If someone tells you so they are lying.

Driving habits, driving conditions, motor design, motor condition, and many
more factors determine the optimal oil change interval. I will say that the
maintenance dose is proving that wear rates are being reduced with the
maintenance dose over extended drains.

I would suggest that you run a cleaning dose and rinse. Then run a
maintenance dose in your oil of choice(which is a good one) for you normal
duration. I will bet the wear numbers are less. Then begin to extend drains
and confirm that you are still good through used oil analysis.
