Old Article on B-52's

This article is from the now defunct Air Progress magazine in January of 1965. It is about the need for replacing the B-52, although this was only three years after the last B-52 was produced.
It is amusing to read, considering that it was 60 years ago and that the B-52s have recently been updated and will still be around for some time.

Same, I've read stories of grandkids going into the same B52 wing as their grandfather did. Wouldn't surprised me if the grandad tells the grandson to look up on the roof at a certain point, and they'll see the chewing gum the grandpa put there 50 years ago lol.

I think they are talking about the FB-111 that actually was produced and fielded for SAC. It's funny they were talking about the "bomber" version of the F-111. Like the F-117 they all were bombers and both should have used the "B" prefix.

There are currently 72 B-52H models still in service. They were produced in 1961 and 1962.

It is not true that Slim Pickens is still a B-52 pilot.
