Are there any problems with switching brands or going from syn to dino back to syn based on what's on sale? Based on the various threads I have read on this forum I would think not. Also, when swithing from syn to dino or vise versa, should the initial OCI be decreased? Thanks for you input.

Switching makes no difference. As a rule synthetic oil can be in service longer than conventional oil. The only scientific way to tell how much longer for your application is to have a used oil analysis done with both conventional and synthetic oil, then base time/miles in use on that.

Based on reading the various threads on here, you should KNOW it doesn't matter. Check out the used oil analysis section to see what otheres are running for an oil change interval, and base yours off of that.

I use to buy what ever oil deal at that month from autozone, AAP.... but then I realise few dollar no different and I change oil twice a years, I dont drive that much. so I just stick with 1 brand now. I never heard switch brand or from syn to dino cause engine problem.

I agree with DP 100%.
The only caveat might be slight oil usage as the motor adjusts to the different additive chemistry of the different brand. This is probably more noticeable when one brand is used long-term and then a change is made.
I use so many different brands that my vehicles never get used to one in particular.

Unless your car if from the 1980s you can switch back and forth all you want. The gaskets are designed for it in newer vehicles.

i have been doing alot of switching with my vehicles and have not noticed any problems. i look in the fill hole every time i check the oil and its always the same. so for now i dont see any problems but ill let you know in a couple hundred thousand miles
