My thermometer showed 113F in our shop..I took a Jetta around the block and it showed 125F..I thought maybe its a little off cause thats hot even for us,

So I took a Mercedes on a test drive. It showed 126F..I assume they are picking up the heat from the asphalt? Still plenty hot.

Both cars showed only 1 degree difference.

The ac in my Jeep was doing its best to keep me cool on my way home though .

Stay well hydrated and stay inside. I don't envy you. We only have mid 90s and swamp arse humidity in AL. I bet it feels cold there when the sun sets after being >120°F during the day.

I cant stay inside as I work in cars on a shop.
What is the temputure in your house @Chris142 ?
Got 3 evaporative coolers going. Compared to outside its nice inside. The best pads are the Aspen ones that look like hay, That cooler is putting out 74* temp

They say BC is having a heat wave. We've been having daytime temperatures of about 31C (88F). But since we're on the coast it cools off every evening and it's only about 15C (59F) overnight.

Haven't turned on the AC yet. We learned how to deal with heat when we were in Winnipeg in an old house.

It was 24C today. Perfect.

Car thermometers aren’t accurate in this heat. They pick up what’s right by the pavement, or when you park and all that heat is coming off the engine, or if you park facing the sun the sensor gets hot.

You're not super far from Palm Springs and what little news I pay attention to, they're seeing 125º for the past week, aren't they ? Just checked their temperature right now (8pm local time in CA) and it's .... 108º F still !

Why does the gauge in the ac not look like a jeep, but rather a late 90s Chevy, complete with ac delco radio??? :)

The asphalt definitely radiates back and throws off the readings. On 90 degree days in full sun on the road we can see triple digits.

78 F. all day today in Pittsburgh, light wind, 55 % humidity, and overcast with no chance of rain. Took my best acoustic guitar, and violin, and a cooler with drinks and food to the park. Played music for a while and then walked in the wooded section of the park. Beautiful scenery with all the trees having full green leaves. Could not ask for a nicer day.

Pittsburgh PA is a little low on the rain total for the last few weeks, but not a drought. The plants in the woods still look good, but the grass in the back yard has some brown spots.

We had about a week of high 80's and 90' with high enough humidity to make it uncomfortable. The remains of the hurricane blew through yesterday and the after affect left a beautiful day today.

If everyday in Pittsburgh was like today, people would be moving here when they retire.

It looks like a TJ dash to me. Plus he has some of those blankety blank ducks, so we know it's definitely a Jeep...

It's been banging the needle off 120 F all week here. It really doesn't matter once it get up into the one teens. The humidity has been under 10%, and it's been pretty windy. I was running around town yesterday. There was plenty of activity.

Today the wife has a doctors appointment, then we'll go to Walmart. I haven't seen or heard a light plane all week. The airport is as dead as a doornail.

I can keep the garage just under 90 F with the evap running. Even with a hot vehicle parked in it. Hey, it's Summer in the Mojave. 🔥

Dang, stay hydrated and keep fans running at work.

I saw on the news some residents home windows shattered from the heat in Las Vegas.
