My slump capacity is 5 litres, and I have a quart of MMO to 4 litres of Fuchs synthetic. Now that mixture has 300 ml of MOS2.

I have mixed MMO and Lubro-Moly together with no problems, but on the next OCI I plan on running 5 ounces of Lubro-Moly and I will not be adding any MMO, not sure if the MMO would keep the Moly from plating or maybe not, but I just want to play it safe.

This was specifically asked on the MMO Forums, I think by Demarpaint, and Rich Kelly's response was no (but why would you want to?)

LOL. You have me mixed up with someone else. I'm not a member there but do read a lot on that site, and refer to it sometimes.

+1

As far as I can tell the LM stays nicely suspended. I have it in the 93 Aerostar which is used everyday. It is also in my snow blower, which hasn't been used in a few weeks, I can still see the LM on the dipstick. I also have some moly mixed in a clear container since the summer IIRC and it is also still in suspension.

IMO what little might fall out of suspension will quickly get suspended again as soon as you fire up your engine.

The ceramic additive is supposed to leave deposits on the spark plugs. An involved engineer stated that he used the regular moly treatment instead because of this. It is posted in a thread in this forum, but I can't find it when I need it.

Falcon - I see no problems using MMO and Lubro Moly. I only use MMO in the engine rarely. Some in winter for some thinning and cleaning.

Concerning the colloidal moly, it seems that it is not coming out of suspension in normal use [by other users].
To be fair, I did note some thicker moly on the bottom of the can [screwdriver test!]. It did need mixing before use.
But I am swayed by the long term use in Europe in very fine cars, and in their dealerships.

Since I just installed 2/3 can, I am at about 230 PPM .
What did I feel in the 30 odd miles since then?
It took a while for the idle to adjust back down - maybe 100 RPM . It hung and slowly went back to normal. The idle is smoother. My ZX2 is sensitive about it's idle, and that is an understatement!
I can't tell if there is any more pep right now, but on the highway the engine seemed smoother when cruising.

I am not selling this stuff. I tried it because it seemed very probably that it would be beneficial.

I had a conversation with a chemist I believe from Rosemill Industries last year, about the ceramic additives. He told me that the ceramic additive finds its way into the combustion chamber and can foul or leave deposits on spark plugs. Your statement backs up what he said. Moly was the better choice in his opinion. He also mentioned their UF moly would stay in suspension for a long time before some settling occured. Then once the engine is fired up it all goes back into suspension. It doesn't clog filters according to him either. So far so good for me.

Sorry - It was asked over there about the same time this thread started up on BITOG, so I thought it might have been you.

Likely just another curious BITOGer
