Oil Weight Question

It looks like he just doesn't like non-American oil. There are several people like that on here.
However, any oil corporation is multinational, including Mobil, Shell, and BP, except small companies and boutique oils.
Are you directing that comment at me sir? If that's the case, that is very out of line and immature when point and counterpoint are being shared in a thread.

XOM is domiciled where the HQ is. Houston, TX.

@JBRIII, have you taken the trip you mentioned in your first post? What are your thoughts on the oil the dealer used?

@TrialKid, thanks for sharing good input that comes from a place of knowledge and actual experience.
No, not yet the weather and work. hasn’t been cooperative. Shooting for August. But it seems fine tooling around town. Shifts a lot smoother to me.

Good deal on the shifting. I prefer the feel of a heavier weight oil all else equal, even though function is no different than a lighter oil in a number of bikes over the years.

some friends that run Yamaha Ténéré 700 over the Greek championship, they run 10W60 oil.
manual says 10W40
Depends the conditions

I run HDEO in our KLX300. 15w40 works great, these engines are pretty easy on oil and I like to change it every year, regardless of miles. On my KTM 390 Enduro, I run Mobil 1 full synthetic 20w50 ($30 for 5 quart jug at WM).

Do you mean Mobil 1 15W-50? As far as I know Mobil 1 20W-50 is V-Twin oil only sold in 1 qt containers.
