Oil Weight for Supercharged Mustang

If you want conventional, Valvoline VR1 Racing Oil lists 1300 ppm zinc and 1200 ppm phosphorus along with 2500 ppm calcium. Comes in 10w30 and 20w50. I would go with the 10w30.

By the way my qtr mile time is 11.4 so far. How much are the Delo oils running a quart or the Rotella? I've been using Castrol syntec blend since its ez to find. Does anyone know a really good conventional oil the has a good amount of zinc and handle 500hp. The way I see it I change my oil every 2 months so do not want to buy expensive synthetics if it will only be in the for a short time.

Your making this wayyyy to difficult.If you would have posted this over @ http://www.corral.net/forums/index.php under the Supercharger section,you would have gotten people who own not only mustangs,but have run Vortech Supercharger combos for years,so i'm sure they could name some oils that would work with your combo. I will tell you this though,use a synthetic! With the added stress on the crankshaft bearings,because of the Vortech installation,the protection and cost of a synthetic is the only way to go. also,purchase yourself a aftermarket balancer.This will help the bearings live longer as well.
