Alrighty, checked the oil on the Durango, and after 3100 miles of stop and go, trailer towing, and the occasional fast ride on the HOV in 100 degree weather, the Hemi used @3/4 of a qt of MC blend 5w-20. Not too shabby! I'll run 'er out another thousand and change it out. Already have 10qts of MC blend in the garage ready to roll. I guess some Mobil 1 0w20 or 5w20 would be just what the doctor ordered for this kind of driving though. I am beginning to think 20 weight oils should all be synthetic.

My LS has 100k miles on it and it uses 0 oil during a 5000 mile run.
Also, If you maintain a steady OCI and keep your car in good running order, a PCV can and should last atleast 50K miles. . . . .

I have 192K+ miles (320K+ KMs) on my Sante Fe with a 2.7L V6 and it uses 0 oil inbetween changes and I regularly do over 6K miles on a change. I also have a fuel dilution problem and it still doesn't burn oil.

Just changing PVC in accordance with manufacturers recommendations. I just didnt think it was all that bad considering it's been over 100 degrees for most of the month here in DC. 90 mile round trip commute in that stellar DC traffic along with towing a trailer a few times. I just think it's a textbook case of when a pure synthetic would earn it's keep.
I think this is a good example of why high performace and heavy duty vehicles sometimes spec a heavier oil. For example the SRT Hemis and the SRT4 run 0w-40, as does my CLK. The Hemi originally ran a 5w30, untill the MDS system...(which ours is the first year for). Long OCI and high performance = heavier duty oil. My CLK has been run just as hard (minus the towing) and hasnt budged in the dipstick in 4500 miles.
