I say "Horse-Hockey!"

A lot of over-wrought hooey, really. Imagine the number of dead engines there would have been, each time there was a classification change, if this was an issue. Just change your oil and filter like you always have.

Just by doing that, you'll have a lot of other motorists beat.

I believe that there is some truth to the matter.

I don't agree. I have read enough to demonstrate that there is some cleaning and exchange of oil chemistry.

Maybe baloney to you.

It doesn't mean that it is not real and that it is possible and real to me.

There is some substance to this but it large scale what is going on in our engines in regards to lubrication and clean up this is very over thought.

Remember, anything that you REALLY believe is true.... for you.

Sure, but the procedure is much complicated than the PDF maintains.

It requires a drain and refill.

Section 4 of the PDF talks about a full engine oil and oil filter change at either 25% or 50% of the usual OCI period and the second full oil and filter change at 75% of the usual OCI period. (Whether its either time or distance based is unclear and probably doesn't matter)

Having read this what do you mean?

Or have I misunderstood the whole article?
