I have a 2021 Nissan NV3500 Passenger Van with 98k miles on the 5.6 VK56VD engine. It has been our daily driver, along with trips pulling our 32' camper. I've had it on a 5k OCI with the dealer since new, except for a couple necessary quick lube changes. I plan to start doing my own maintenance now as the 100k powertrain warranty is about to expire. It runs like new. It's a shame Nissan quit making it after 2021, as there are no others on the market that would fit my needs if I had to replace it.
I just purchased a 2025 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek for daily driving, and have several free oil changes at the dealer. I just hit 500 miles and have been researching oils to do a couple break in changes before taking it to the dealer at 5k miles. I bought a couple Nissan OEM filters on Amazon.
Both vehicles have DI engines and only list 0w-20 in the manuals. I've always used Mobil 1 in the past, and was looking at the ESP X2 as an option, although the Mobil site suggests a high mileage over 75k for the van. I am also intrigued by Valvoline's Restore and Protect. I've read a lot of posts on this forum and would like some input for my applications. I drive a lot of miles and keep vehicles a long time. I rarely short trip. I live in Oklahoma City, so it does get hot and cold, but nothing crazy as far as winter temps.
Thanks for any input.
