Oil Spill Cleans up Garage Floor!

Had a nasty spill yesterday in the garage - about 4 quarts of red hot Rotella 5W-40 dumped on the garage floor. Ugh.

Cleaned it up with kitty litter and Simple Green. Now the area where the oil settled in is much cleaner than the surrounding area. Talk about effective detergents in HDEO!!

When I worked at Sears Auto I spilled some Rockstar on the shop floor and it started bubbling and took off the floor coating. Looked back at the can and had weird images of what it was doing to my stomach and kept drinking it.

The hot oil dissolved the crud then it all wicked up with the KL.

Likely the simple green did the cleaning

Simple green does clean oil? I'll use it in my oci starting today!

Like dissolves like. But, uh, usually when you clean an area, said area is cleaner than the area you didnt clean

find both windex and AJAX ( Red Grapefruit ) dish detergent to do good job for removing motor oil . Maybe B.P. should drop large quantities of the AJAX in the GULF to disperse it .
