Oil specs for 675 Briggs &Stratton

Its time to dump the 5 hr. break in oil in my new 675 Briggs. The Lawnboy manual states to refill with 20oz. Oil. The separate Briggs manual the mower came with states in the oil specs that the oil capacity is 18oz-20oz of oil when refilling. I recently picked up a Briggs tune up kit that came with a 18oz bottle of 30wt. Its kinda stupid to get all worked up over 2oz. of oil. But to put my oil Ocd to ease which is it 18 or 20 oz?? Since 20oz is stated as the max fill is it ok to run it on 18oz.?

Either way. Two oz. (10%) isn't that much of a difference. If it were me, I'd put in the 18 oz., let it settle and read the dipstick.

I just fill them until they read full. Not sure exact ounces.

briggs had nearly always recommended 20oz in their smaller engines, up until a couple yrs ago, however there crankcase capacity never decreased, so either way would be fine
