It was 15 degrees here in N.E. Ohio today and I found myself puttering in the basment. Ive combined various open bottles of oil into 20oz bottles that I'll use on spring lawnmower oil changes. (1 Briggs 6.75, 1 Briggs 6.5) Anyway here are the 2 batches I mixed up:
First batch
4oz. 30wt Craftsman
16oz. 10w30 motorcraft synblend

Second batch
2oz. 30wt Pennzoil YB
18oz. 30wt Briggs Stratton oil

half Q horsepower 5w30 full syn half peak 5w30. But it's in a snowblower.

What ever 5W20,5W30, 10W30, 10W40 that drizzles out of the qt bottles after all of my OCI's. Syn, syn blend and dino. It all gets mixed into a dedicated wide mouth qt bottle. Shake it up and pour into the lawn mower or snow blower.

I have been using a straight 30W HD dino oil with a 5W30 synthetic at 50-50 for several years now. I don't think the type of oil makes any diff in a mower etc, just change it a couple of times a year due to dust/dirt etc

I used 50-50 dino SM 30 wt and 10w 30 autozone full synthetic in my 6.5hp Chonda Generator. Really quieted it down and smoothed it out compared to straight 30wt dino.
