Oil samples shipped via USPS still somewhere enroute for 6 weeks

I mail mine via USPS, in one of those light blue and white Amazon bubble bags.

They always arrive in 3 days. I'm disguising what is actually inside, LOL.

This can be a good method because there's always the possibility that some nitwit with the USPS will hijack the sample considering it a "hazardous substance," therefore non-mailable.

I'm with 53' Stude. Twice, correctly posted samples simply vanished. No more.
I'm also with NormanBuntz in considering the possibility of a "renegade inspector", or movement, bent on making liquid shipments disappear.
Picture postcards too, have always been "high disappearance items".

Well, I’m heading back to my post office to see what is up with my oil samples. I never got email back from the contact cptbarkey sent me.

i was told it was hazard waste and couldnt be shipped

I have the official paper showing I can send in an oil sample new or used.

Anyways; went back to post office. It’s now officially lost as girl found tracking # and called West Virginia office and it went all way up to Illinois and nothing for 7 days. What a horrible joke but USPS.

I already do nd folks that could use the LE gear oil so I sent in a 2008 era Rotella T4 15w-40 SM/CJ-4 sample and a sample of FRAM “conventional 10w40 SP rated bit ago via UPS.

USPS shafted me real good
I had to remake 3 orders I dropped off at a PA. Post office on August 29th... cost over $400

Customers abuse you because the packages never got an acceptance scan and although insured they denied my claims because I printed labels and didn't send anything... yeah right

Same crap happened last week...
Ticked off.. this beauty popped up now

Gun parts bro

I have always been lucky enough that I didn’t need to mail my samples to the lab because I could always drop them off right at the Wearcheck lab. When I first started using them they were located in Mississauga and I lived in Mississauga. Then they relocated to Burlington and I was working in Burlington, just five minutes away from them actually. So that often meant that I would have my results back within 24 hours. I once dropped off a sample in the morning and had the results online that afternoon! I know that’s not possible for everyone, but for those of you who have a lab in your area, dropping samples off directly is the way to go 😃

All delivery companies are a joke...although UPS hasn't hurt me yet.
Several months ago, I mailed three identical small packages by USPS to my three kids. One address was close to me (Kansas City), the other two were to Laredo, Texas and Phoenix. These packages were tracked and insured. The closest package took two weeks. The package to Phoenix took three weeks. The package to Laredo, Texas took one month and a day. The local postmaster (where the packages were mailed from) was calling Wichita and Kansas City to expedite them along. Didn't help.
About a year ago, FedEx had my package for over a month. I had the tracking number, but every day it just said "out for delivery" and in the evening it was back in the warehouse. They loaded and unloaded it so many times that they had to rebox my package and issue a new address label on it. Complaining electronically didn't help. Finally contacting a live human (from India or Pakistan) didn't help either.
A couple of months ago, I had a package coming to me by FedEx. I saw that it had been delivered, but the "proof of delivery" photos was not my steps. Turns out my package was delivered about 6 miles away from me with a different street address and even a different zip code. The person who received it called me a day later to tell me where the package was. What a joke. They've been having problems for years.

@53' Stude Did the package ever make it?

I sent a USPS Priority envelope during C19 that took over 6 MONTHS to arrive. An outlier for sure but a weird one nonetheless.
No it never made it. They declared it lost. I asked for refund and did not get one. Told postal worker I’ll never ever send anything via them again. What a scam.
