Oil Rating

How would you rate these oil (10w30)? 1-7...1 being the best and 7 being the worst. And explain why.... *List them 1-7*

-Mobil 1 High Mileage Full Synthetic

I think what he meant was your question is impossible to answer in the abstract. Give us the application, expected OCI, expected driving conditions, expected temps, etc. then you may get some answers.

i'm just trying to find a oil for my car which is at 109,000 miles. (98 Honda Accord V6) My car has always used regular oil until i bought it. i have changed my oil twice since i bought it and i used Full Synthetic oil, Mobil 1 and Penzoil Platinum. I am just looking for the BEST oil for my car (excluding Royal Purple, Amboil and brands like that) Any suggestions? Thanks

Okay, you gave us the application. Now give us expected OCI, expected driving conditions, expected temps, etc.

My simple answer would be Conoco's TropArtic 5w30 blend for $1.68 at Walmart everyday.

Then use anything on your list when you can get it for less on sale/rebate. See the section on the main page at the bottom on Promotions.

Come back when you hit 300,000 miles, then again at 500,000 which you can likely do on that engine/vehicle with reasonable maintenance. Let us know how it works out.

If he is a typical Honda "dude" then you are undoubtedly joking. The last Honda "dude" I had a conversation with blew his engine up ON PURPOSE by redlining it on the local cruise strip and was PROUD OF IT. Kept raving about seeing 20 lbs of boost before it went up in smoke.
