I have a question, i have been Running the delo 400 15w40 for 2 years now, with good oil pressure, But im moving to a colder climate, Alberta Canada, So i need to find out of a 5w Delo 400 is available and how hard to get, becuase i had a foaming problem with the rotella 15w40 before.

Also, My Np203 Calls for 10W40 or 10w30 and i use the Delo 15w40 in that, should i modify that for the winter temps,

My transmission is a Np4530 that im running 85W140 in it. what should i put in it.

And my dana 60 rear, had a Detroit locker in it With 85W140 what there?

And my Front is a Dana 44, with a suregrip, limited slip, With 90W and limited slip additive.

anyone here run the lucas in there rigs? I used to run it in a 6.2 diesel with no problems, would anyone reccomend it?

For grease i have been using the Delo EP2 grease for all of it.

You could check with Chevron Canada to see if their retail lubricants are available in Alberta, they are in BC so if you're close to that border you can buy them in any station, if not you could contact a station in BC and they will bus them to you.

Look into Schaeffer Oil Company. They have a 9000 series 5w40 synthetic that is half PAO half GPIII. Specs are great. Should work fine in your climate. Check with member Sales Rep.

I haven't seen Schaeffer products, but Redline is available at performance shops, Amsoil is on the shelves in Peaveymart stores and there are about 15 or so other major brands, lots to choose from here.

why not consider the exxo xd-3 0w-40? It has always had great specs and excellent performance.

Similarly, last I was in Canada, I could buy delvac 1 5w-40 syn in the wal-mart in 4L jugs. If you can get that, youll have an excellent oil...

yea, delvac would work also for me, Delo and delvac are basically the same oil.

normally in one of the people that sticks with the same brand of oil

I run 5W40 Chevron in my 99 Powerstroke. Starts easy in the winter. Good analysis results and very easy to find up here. Check the United Farmers of Alberta stores about $20 per gallon.

All the choices mentioned by those above are excellent choices...I have used most of them or have some that I will be using. In regards to your original question- I live in Edmonton and for the most part run Dino until well into November. LAst year was an exception-it was extraordinarily cold and we had -25 in the first week of November. Then around the end of Feb I usually drop my engine oil if it needs to be changed and go back to dino again. Usaully Delo 400. So, you really only may need Synthetic for Decmeber through February. My driveline Lubes are always Syntehtic and I only change them every second year or so- I would definitely use synthetic in trany and tcase and diffs.
Delo 5W40 is relatively easy to get where I live. Easy to come by in Penticton (close to the border, in BC) as well

I agree with D-Roc(3 posts up). Synthetic 0-30,5-30,5-40,in the really cold months(Nov.-Feb.)I've heard that in Alaska everybody uses synthetic or their vehicles won't start in the winter. You will also need a strong battery,as it takes much more "juice" to start a car/truck at -20F than +50F. Welcome to Winter in the "north country"! Cold weather does weird things to vehicles.

UFA 0w40 is supposed to be repackaged Esso XD-3 0w40 full synthetic, only cheaper.
