Oil Pressure Up: Filter or Weight?

At the suggestion of this forum, I swtched filter brands to Napa silver. And new OCI to Pennzoil High Mileage after dumping the previous from 1000 mi.

Now the pressure gauge reads slightly higher. OCI was 4 quarts of 5w30 and 1 of 10w30.


Is the higher pressure due to the oil mix or filter?

Motor is 4.7 Dodge Ram.

Could be a lot of thing. The short OCI could have cleaned the pressure sensor and now it's reading the truer measure of press. :dunno:

It's likely the heavier oil mix.
