For a while, I have a leak in my 2003 Chevy Blazer. My passenger side of the engine block is wet in oil. Due to it being cluttered, I cannot see where its coming from. So I switched to a high mileage oil. Mobil Super High Mileage 5w30. It seemed to slow the leak down a bit. Then this last time I changed oil, I decided to try the Valvoline Maxlife Full Synthetic 5w30. What a mistake. The leak really increased that it took about 1/2 quarts at 2000 miles. But still can't find the leak. Any advise?

I'd probably top it off with Valvoline MaxLife semi-syn which is less expensive. Around $4.50 per quart at Walmart.

So a half quart over 2000 miles? Not too bad but it would nice to find and fix the leak. Maybe degrease that area of the engine and keep tabs on it. Hard to find on a dirty engine.

I used up the rest of my left over oil and that is what I was thinking, to top off with the maxlife synthetic blend till the next oil change. If I can't find the leak, maybe I will use that in the next oil change.

If it is a seal/ gasket try Pennzoil High Mileage 5w30 that has worked better then anything else in all the leaky engines i tried it in.

That has been replaced, due to having the lower manifold gasket being replaced and that came along with the part, so that was done as well. The leak start before that happened and still didn't go away.
