Oil in JD L-110

I have a Deere L-110,bought in 2003 with the Kohler 17.5 engine. I have been using the Kohler filter and the JD Turf Guard 10W30 oil.Changing oil and filter every 25 hours as directed by the owners manual. It now has 105 hours on it. Any recommendations for another brand of conventional oil and what about the change interval. I believe the Kohler web site says every 100 hours.What about changing the oil every 25 hrs and the filter every 50.Thanks in advance.

If you aren't worried about the warranty I would go with a synthetc 10w30 and change the oil and filter every 50 hours.

I run GC 0w30 in my 16hp Kohler and change once per year.

someone did a VOA on that oil and said it wasnt that great at all. prob go with any automotive oil.
