Guys, I am under the gun. Yesterday, my wife tells me that she will now ALLOW me to change the oil in her C-60. So what do you guys reccommend? I don't have access to the owner's manual right now.

What I have in the stash, QS Q-torque 5w-20, Valvoline in 5w30 and 10w30, Formula Shell 10w-40, Castrol Tection 20w-50, and some assorted odds and ends of Havoline 5w-20, 30w, 5w30 and 10w-40.

It seems like she has finally listened to what I was telling her. She purchased the car 1-1/2 years ago, and promptly read the maint sched recommending a 10k mile OCI. I asked her a couple times about when she was either gettig the oil changed or wanted me to change the oil. She replied it didn't need one until 10k. As a BITOGer I told her way to long, she answered that's what the book said. I said the book is wrong, she said she would ask the guys down at the V-Shop. Low and behold, they told her 5k absolutely no more than 7.5k, just so happens that's what I told her. She is now planning to bring the car into the shop for the 10k changes, with me doing a 5k oil drain and refill.

Funny thing, she still ain't said I was right! Guess the earth may change rotation if she says that.

By the way the V-Shop is an auto shop specializing in Volvo automobiles, they do excellent work, but they are kinda high dime.

What is a Volvo C-60? I Googled and it looks like a concept car. That's pretty cool if your wife drives a one-off custom Volvo.

What's the year and mileage of her concept car? What's the engine in it? What oil has it been running?

I'm sure the "book" is correct about OCI's but we don't have it in front of us so we can't tell what Volvo suggests for oil in their cars.

I can understand why you are under the gun. I'm not married and even I know that arguing with a woman is a guaranteed losing proposition.

OOPS!

I may have that letter wrong. Worked night shift last night and I am not on my "A" game.

I am going to cruise the Volvo site and get the exact model. It is my wife's car, I didn't have any say in the purchase of the car and I have never driven the car.
