Oil for old chevy engine

Should I be concerned about what type of oil I use in a 1956 Chevy straight six. Thanks

I would either run a straight 30wt or a 10w30. Pick your favorite brand.

I'd run an HDEO of some kind - either 10w30 or 15w40.

I agree with the suggestions about an HDEO. On the Farm, we had one a bit older than a 1956, in a grain truck. It used everything from Rotella SAE 30 to Esso 15w40. That engine was amazing.

Rotella 15w40 or Delo 15W40 would be my 2 choices.
