Thought I would ask your opinion on something. I have an old 1955 Chevy 4 door sedan with the original 235 straight six motor That I am currently restoring. THe car has 92,000 miles on it and just had new rod bearings and an oil pump installed last summer. It will be used as a daily driver as soon as the weather clears up. Anyways I wanted your suggestions for what kind of oil to run in it. It does smoke on start up but clears up after that, Most of that is because of the weeks that go by in between starts. I want to stick with a dino just because of the age of the thing. I thought maybe Maxlife or Shell's Rotella (If it even comes as a dino) would be good. or maybe just some old-formula havoline with some Schaeffer oil treatment.
