blueiedgod - you've made two statements here making fun of somebody else's purchase, which they purchased with hard-earned money. If you aren't going to say something useful, don't say anything at all.
As for the Azera - is that the 3.5 or the 3.8? I have the 3.5 in my Sedona and I'm using 5W-40 in it from Farm and Fleet. The 10W-40 got chewed up pretty quickly. As for filters, the 3.5 takes the same filters as my '02 Accord V6 which is a fairly common filter. I rather prefer the K&N oil filters but have used several. I'll probably be sticking with K&N - the Fram filters are terrible. I've also used Wix and NAPA Gold (good!).
In another few months I hope to do another oil analysis through Terry Dyson (he's awesome) and we'll see how the engine is doing with this 5W-40. I may end up using synth or synth blend in which case I'll probably look hard at Valvoline MaxLife - it's got an awesome additive package.
If you have the 3.8, then my comments don't directly apply, however the K&N oil filters really are pretty outstanding.
You can't go wrong with Amsoil filters or Oil, it's really quite top notch stuff - but a bit pricey for my wallet.
Lastly, as far as quality and aesthetics are concerned, I've found the latest Kia (and Hyundai) designs to be very eye pleasing and in most ways every bit as good as the Hondas and Toyotas out there. I think Kia has a bit to go in some areas but I would look at Kia (or possibly Hyundai) for my next vehicle.
I should also note that our '03 Kia Sedona (V6, bought used) has been a lot less trouble then our '02 Honda Accord V6 bought new.
